November 2016

November has been my first month back in the workshop full time which is a good place to be.

I have made lots of new work which has gone out to galleries for Christmas exhibitions and my own web shop is live and filling up with new pieces including this set of aqua sea glass and silver pieces of jewellery.

I have had this gorgeous round piece of sea glass for quite some time and am delighted with this lovely clean silver setting; I've left the back open to let the light shine through the glass which I guess is the base of an old bottle stop.

Buoys-a-Dear!

The first set of my buoy inspired jewellery has hit the shop

Spending lots of time on the coast the brightly coloured or weathered and faded buoys always caught my eye and earlier this year I started to make jewellery echoing these coastal sights.

Enamelling round silver and copper discs to create earrings, necklaces, bangles and rings with a pop of colour I offer these in a shiny new-buoy or matt been-in-the-sea-a-while-buoy finish.

So join me in exclaiming in fine Norther Irish fashion, buoys a dear* would you look at those colours!

*'boys a dear!' = a common mild exclamation in  Northern Ireland along the lines of 'Oh My goodness!'

October 2016

October 2016 brings to an end our time running Coldstream Gallery, a jam packed two years and we are so grateful to all the fantastic artists who showed with us and all our visitors; for popping for coffee, buying, chatting and being lovely!

Now it's back to the workshop full time for me getting ready for winter exhibitions and to fill www.laurajohnsonjewellery.co.uk with new jewellery.

We managed to squeeze in a wonderful trip to Edinburgh which reminds me I have a memory card of photos to look at.

August 2016

This summer's edition of EB Living features the most fabulous photographs of my jewellery, many thanks to photographer Abbie McCann and Melanie Buchan.

We had the opportunity to get over home to Northern Ireland to catch up with lots of lovely people and go walking in the Mournes; Trassey, Hares Gap, Slieve Bearnagh.

We had a visit from super friends from the Midlands and it was so ace to get to show them the gallery and what we've been up to since we last saw them at our wedding.

July 2016 was the month we finally climbed Scafell Pike having both wanted to do it long before we'd ever met.

Big massive thank you to Hannah Longmuir for looking after the gallery for us!

My sea glass, pottery and recycled silver jewellery is available at Crown Studio, Rothbury. You can see an up dated list of stockists over on my website.

March brought a new stockist; you can now find my jewellery in the fabulous Creative Recycling Gallery, Chorlton, Manchester.

Our own Spring Exhibition got off to a flying start with fabulous work on show and all sorts of spring happenings on the windows, there seem to be more bunnies and daffodils with every passing day!

When not at the gallery I've been making new jewellery with lots of lovely blue and white sea pottery which will be off to stockists soon.
